Rhymesayers20: Relive the Experience

On Friday, December 4, 2015, we celebrated the Rhymesayers 20 Anniversary Concert at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN. Relive the experience with this recap video of the evening

.

Thank you to all the fans, friends and family who have supported Rhymesayers over our twenty years.

Thank you to everyone that touched the stage from the first needle drop to the confetti landing on the floor. Seeing all the DJs, MCs, musicians and dancers together in one place really was a beautiful thing to experience.

Thank you to the entire crew that worked two entire nonstop days to make sure the stage, lights, video and sound would be the best they could be for the evening. This show was a lot of work for a lot of people, much respect and appreciation to the fifty plus crew that made this night possible.

Thank you to First Avenue and the Target Center who helped and pushed us to make this show a reality from an idea over a year ago. Their support on this show was overwhelming and without them it would not have been possible.

Thank you to everyone at Rhymesayers and Fifth Element for all the hard work and dedication that was needed to make this show work. It's not always easy running our daily operations with the extra work load of a show this size, but somehow we pulled it off.

Thank you to DJ K-Salaam, P.O.S, Toki Wright, Boom Bap Project, Grayskul, Los Nativos, deM atlaS, Mr. Dibbs, I Self Devine, Grieves, Soul Position, Prof, DJ Fundo, Musab, Abstract Rude, Grieves, BK One, Battlecats, DJ Abilities, Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic, Kimya Dawson, Murs, Dilated Peoples, Jake One, Brother Ali, S.H.E, Atmosphere, First Avenue crew, Target Center, Slamhammer, Common World, Chris Gliebe & Light Borne, 1 Light Films, Rhymesayers & Fifth Element Crew, Van Styles, Cory Dewald, Kevin O'Meara, Beth Saravo and Amal Flower Kay.

Also, thanks to Freeway for trying to be with us for the performance, but unfortunately, due to unforeseen health issues associated with his recent kidney failure, he was unable to travel for the Rhymesayers 20 Anniversary Concert. For more information on Freeway's battle with kidney disease please follow @phillyfreedomfighters on Instagram.

Thank you to Micheal "Eyedea" Larsen for being with us in spirit. We love you and will never forget you.

Thank you to all of you that travelled from near and far to share the moment with us. It was an emotional night, making the arena feel like an intimate experience. Thank you for being you. Thank you all for being there. Thank you to those who couldn't be with us, but continue to show Rhymesayers support. Thank you for twenty years of helping keep Rhymesayers moving forward.
