Ironlak Strikers | 45RPM
“My morning coffee tends to be looking up some sort of bit of slang from somewhere and drawing it” Bristol-based Striker slayer 45RPM has developed an (un)healthy obsession with creating impromptu scrawls based around nonsense verbiage informed by cockney rhymes – a type of English slang which originated in the East End of London. Many of the expressions have passed into common language EG: money = bread = bread & honey. It developed as a way of obscuring the meaning of sentences to those who did not understand the slang (often the police). Travel with us to Bristol to gain a quick insight into part of British culture which from the outside appears insane. #ironlakstrikers Artist: 45RPM. Instagram: @45rpmwhat Shot/cut: Selina Miles.
